TB-500 Research Guide: Identity, COAs & Handling

TB-500 is a research-compound name that needs careful verification. It is often discussed in the context of Thymosin Beta-4 biology, but suppliers and secondary sources do not always use the term for the same molecular entity. This guide explains how to check the current batch COA before using TB-500 in research design.

Why TB-500 Identity Must Be Checked

Published Thymosin Beta-4 research spans cell migration, angiogenesis, cardiac repair and anti-inflammatory pathways. TB-500-labelled products are often discussed alongside that literature, but the name may refer to different Thymosin Beta-4-related materials depending on supplier specification.

For reproducible work, treat TB-500 as a batch-defined compound rather than relying on the trade name alone. The COA should state the exact sequence, CAS number where applicable, theoretical molecular weight, measured MS result, HPLC purity and batch number.

TB-500 vs BPC-157 in Research Design

These two compounds are frequently discussed together, but they should not be treated as interchangeable. BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid gastric-derived peptide with a strong gastrointestinal and angiogenic literature; TB-500-labelled materials are associated with Thymosin Beta-4-related migration and actin-regulation literature.

For analytical purposes, BPC-157 has a defined molecular weight of 1419.53 g/mol. For TB-500, use the theoretical molecular weight stated on the current batch COA and make sure the MS identity result matches that exact specification.

Handling, Storage and Reconstitution

Store lyophilised TB-500 at -20°C. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water added gently down the vial wall, swirl — never shake — until dissolved, then refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within 21 days.

If the current TB-500 batch is a larger peptide, it may take longer to dissolve than smaller products. Follow the COA and product handling notes, and use patience and gentle swirling rather than force.
